Was it a port? A fort? Or both? Tulum, the walled city by the Caribbean Sea, stands at the top of the limestone cliffs surrounded by one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There are navigation windows in the main structure to aid sea travelers through the offshore reef. The beautiful location makes the site a pleasure to walk through and, from the sea, it's quite impressive. Don't forget your bathing suit, the water is great.
